Getting Started

Educational Arts Resource Services received a grant and in April 2007, three American teaching artists will travel to Bolivia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Nicaragua to offer performing arts workshops to marginalized youth in a project funded by the U.S. Department of State.

Suzilah, Inc will create a one-hour educational program that documents the transformational powers of the performing arts on the disenfranchised and the people who teach them.

Rebbecca Martinez and Kerry Skalsky and Hal Ryder will be the teaching artists. The documentary is being produced by Chris DeBoer and narrated by Brendan Fraser. Jose Gonzales will score it.

We are still seeking funding for the documentary. A regular report on the trip and pictures will be available here. For further information on the documentary go to Investors
